[Tutorial + Template] Quilted Designer Bag Card
The SVG version of this template is admittedly more detailed than the PDF, but by no means any bit better. Since the PDF version is more involved I've decided to base the video tutorial off of that. If you are making the SVG version, cut to the gluing stage.
- Purse template
- X-acto knife
- Score tool
- Cutting mat
- Glue/Double sided tape
- Scrapbooking magnets
Print your PDF template out and see that there is a quilted panel for the front, back, and top. Tape the template sheet to 2 pieces of cardstock and cut along the red lines. Repeat for the front, back, and top.
Separate one of the cardstock sheets and re-tape the template to one of the cut cardstock. Score along all of the black lines to make the quilted pattern. Repeat for front, back, and top
Tape the template to contrasting cardstock and cut along the red lines.
Score along all black lines
Along the blue lines and dots, mark with a pencil
Start with the card base and glue the front to the back along the tab. Repeat with the top piece. Glue the tab piece to the top piece aligning the pencil markings.
Take your magnets and tape the first to the pencil marking on the tab. Making sure you have the right side of the magnet that will attract to the first magnet, place a piece of tape of said face and stick to the inside of the tab. Press down to attach the magnet to the front piece (should align with your pencil marking).
Glue all of the scored and quilted pieces to the outside of the card and the non-scored pieces to the inside of the card.
Add decorative ribbon for the handle of the bag card and you are finished.
